Siberia Airlines
I have a true respect for "Siberia Airlines". A former division of "Aeroflot", the company had to struggle for survival during 90's.
It's a true story of success, a "Siberian dream". Nobody believed that a small regional airline would grow into a major player, serving Russia and abroad, but here it is, alive and kicking....
...and with a great design, too!

Established in 1992 in the city of Ob, it was focused on domestic flights from Novosibirsk - just another small regional operator that appeared on the ruins of former "Aeroflot". With time, the company grew in size, and look at it now!
These days, "Siberia Airlines" is a major market player, competing with "Aeroflot" and "Transaero". It was the second Russian company to join IATA. "S7" also claims to be Russia's largest domestic airline, and it could very well be true.
If you need to fly across the country, chances are "S7" will make you an offer you can't refuse. Why? Because with hubs in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk it's usually cheaper than the competition and offers a convenient flight schedule.
I've had personal experience with "S7 Airlines" when I needed to fly to Yekaterinburg. I saved on the tickets and on the overweight. Had quite a few kilos above the free limit, and was sure they'll suck my wallet dry. Well, that just didn't happen. I had to pay alright, but much less than I potentially could.

The flight went well, everything was on time and the service was good. It was above my expectations, actually. Being a Muscovite, I expected much less from a regional airline. I honestly admit I was wrong!
"Siberia Airlines" serves Austria, Bulgaria, China, Egypt, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Montenegro, South Korea, Spain,Thailand, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
If you live in one of these countries and plan to visit - consider "S7". It may not always offer the best service, but it's very cheap and the flight will take you no longer than few hours, so why overpay?
The company fleet consists of "Airbus", "Boeing","Ilyushin" and "Tupolev" planes. It's not fun to fly the older Soviet tin cans, so the plan is to replace them with modern liners.
However, you only risk flying the Russian plane on domestic flight, so if you come from abroad - there's nothing for you to worry about!
I have another personal reason to choose "Siberia Airlines". In my opinion, its design is the best one in Russia!
The lime-green fuselage with a red logo on top looks fantastic. The re-branding was made by "Landor Associates", a British marketing agency. Great job, guys!
