Russian summer
Russian summer... what do you picture when you hear these words? Green trees, lakes, girls in swimming suits? Moscow heat? Ahh, don't you just love summer time?
And you know, you are totally right! Moscow summer is very pleasant! Sure it can bring surprises, but we won't let them ruin the fun! We'll come prepared!
Imagine how great it is to walk across beautiful alleys, enjoying the sun? No clouds, no cold rain, no need for jackets and jeans. Such a pity the Russian summer is so short!

So what do you do during the summer? In short - everything! Summer in Moscow is the best time to go out, have fun and meet new friends!
Visit VDNH and enjoy stunning flower exhibitions. Don't forget to drop by the nearby botanic garden! You can walk there for hours! Park Pobedy is waiting for you as well. More flowers, fountains, monuments and space to go around!

Go to Arbat. Ride roller coasters in Gorky Park. See new movies in Moscow cinemas. Escape the rush of the big city to historic center of Moscow. And did I mention The Red Square?
Summer is a time for romance. If you're dating somebody, why don't you go out tonight? There are plenty of great places to spend the evening, including Moscow restaurants. Buy her a burger at T.G.I. Friday's, and the girl is yours (if she survives the calories!)

Like to swim? There are many beaches around! Most are outside the city, so you'll need a car. If you want something closer, try "Serebryannyi Bor","Strogino" and "Vodnoe Dynamo". They are clean AND quite close!
Afraid of sunburns? There are dozens of swimming pools like "CSKA" (Ce-Es-Ka) and "Olympiyskiy"! You probably have a couple of those right near your place. All you need is a health certificate ("spravka") - get one from any doctor.
As you see, the options are endless. Eventually it all comes down to you, so plan your day carefully!

...and as usual, a little advice!
1) Cold weather. May happen during the summer. Just watch the forecast and have a jacket somewhere near. Don't worry - there are many things you can do even if it's colder than you expected. And then, just before you know it - the weather is warm again!
2) Instant floods. May get you soaked wet sometimes. Not necessarily bad - your girlfriend may invite you to stay at her place until you're dry again
When it gets really hot and cloudy - get ready to buy an umbrella. Still have doubts? Here's another hint - just before the storm it gets reeeeeeally windy.
3) Heat wave. When it's hot - it's hot. During Russian summer, the temperature may jump to +35C. So wear a hat, drink a lot and stay in the shade. If you don't feel too well - catch a cab back to your hotel. Don't get down to stuffy metro.
