How To Get Russian Business Visa
Expanding your operations? With Russian business visa, your profits will surely soar!
You are a busy man, so I'll cut to the chase. Let's see what the guys at the embassy want BEFORE you actually apply.
We don't have time to lose in the queues, do we?
Ok, here goes.
1) Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia).
Simple, really. One thing - DO pay attention to the expiration date! You never know what can get into those bureaucrats, so don't risk it. If your passport's nearly expired - better renew it.
2) Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed.
You can download it right here. Write as clearly as you possibly can - any typo can make you fill it out again. Best do it in advance - theres no place like home!
3) ONE passport-size photo signed on the back.
Have several. As I noted on my Russian travel visa page, bring more than asked. There's always a chance they'll screw up your photo and ask for another one, right?
4) For stay exceeding 3 months, or multi entry visa, an HIV test required.
Make sure you know where they want you to take it. There's a good chance they only work with one or two clinics.
5) Official invitation from an organization authorized to invite business visitors to Russia.
Can be issued by the Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Interior, or authorized agencies. The hosts arrange it usually, but check with them anyways. Make sure it has a seal, a signature, an address and the name of the inviting person. It'd be great if you got the original document as well.
If you need an invitation, but don't have anyone to help you - don't worry. There are lots of agencies in Russia that will issue an invitation for a reasonable fee.
Capitalism. I love it!
P.S. To feel even more secure, bring anything that may serve as proof of your good intentions, like contracts, business cards, etc. That way, you'll get your Russian business visa nice and easy.
Have a great flight!
