Moscow Museums part 2
That's the second page of my Moscow museums review. Click this link to go to beginning.
You are planning to visit the Kremlin, right? Right?? Well, don't miss its wonderful museums!
The place is simply stunning. For centuries, it's been the heart of Russian empire in every possible way. Even today it's a major decision-making center, just like the good old times.
There are lots of museums and sights around, including Ivan the Great Bell Tower, several churches and the Patriarch palace. Mine personal favorite is the Armory, with lots of weapons, costumes, artifacts and fantastic jewelry of the Diamond Fund. Put it as your top priority and skip the rest if you're in a rush.

Visit Annunciation, Archangel and Assumption cathedrals to see the magnificent icon collections.
...and don't forget the Tsar Bell and Tsar Cannon!

If you're a fan of gadgets - Polytechnic museum is your place.
Since it was built in 1872, most of it 170,000 exhibits are more than 100 years old!
That's your chance to see the antique microscopes, typewriters, light bulbs, clocks, weights, sewing machines and every other possible piece of technology you may think about!

Check out the collection of vintage cars. The oldest one, French "De Dion Bouton", dates back to 1901! Most of the cars are Soviet, including the unique WWII vehicles - you won't see them anywhere else.
But that's not all! There's also a collection of retro bikes and bicycles, some of them made in 1900's! I never thought someone would bring them together, but it was well worth the effort!
Darwin museum is one of the few in the world dedicated to the evolution.
It's been backing Darwin theory since 1907, and became quite good at it!
Its first floor is all about the biodiversity of our planet. It represents all of Earth's regions with detailed compositions that "caught" me for at least an hour. The birds, the animals, the trees - everything seemed so real!
The second floor is all about evolution. It shows the common traits of different species, and tells about survival, adaptation and natural selection. Now, it may sound dull, but when you see the wolves attacking the elk (all of them stuffed, of course), you begin to realize how bloody and hard this struggle is.

The last hall tells a sad story of extinction. It has dinosaurs alright, but is mostly dedicated to the species endangered by us. I'm not "green" in any way, but it made me think that if everyone cared a little bit more for the environment-things would be so much better!
By the way, there's a hidden Easter egg. I'll give you a hint - it's about Matrioshka. Look carefully!
