Hotel National Moscow was special right from its creation in 1903 - way before you and I were even born!

During its construction, the "cutting edge" materials and technologies were used such as elevators and phones. Doesn't sound like much today, but think what revolution it made back then!
No wonder "National" has been one of leading Moscow hotels right from the start - and I'm so glad it was restored after the fall of communism!
Built a more than a decade before the October revolution, "National" quickly became the leading Moscow hotel. No wonder - with all that hard labor put into it!
In 1917 everything changed. Hotel "National" has become a home to Soviet government and was later turned to a common hostel. A pity, and yet - a common story of those dark times...

It was restored only 1995, after a decade of work. No, the hotel wasn't that badly ruined, it's just that USSR was hit by the economic crysis and couldn't afford faster construction schedule.
After it was finally done, Hotel National Moscow received a 5-star status right away. You can say it returned to its roots, becoming a home to rich and famous just like a century ago.
The rooms are astonishing, carefully designed and well-furnished. Just look at the picture of National suite - and you'll understand what I mean!

Recently I heard that hotel was renovated. I couldn't imagine what could be improved, so I made a little research.

I must say it made me green with envy.
The furniture was replaced with custom-made Italian articles.
The Studios has become bigger. The rooms were redesigned, the bathrooms became larger, with top-notch Italian jakuzzis installed.
Check this out: "...the choice is not limited to intensity of air or water jets - the visitor can set one of fifteen possible variants of illumination of water or cheer up under a massage shower..."
Now where is my credit card??
